Dress sharp,
Hit hard

This was a rewarding pitch to win. I proposed a clean, minimal look that broke from the glossy, machine-driven style dominating sports graphics at the time.

The goal was to channel the energy and emotion of football — the human side of the game — without the clichéd chrome and dancing robots. Bold team colors, crisp animation, and a content-forward approach, resulted in better cross-platform clarity, and let the big stars and big plays speak for themselves.

The refresh went on to win best tv sports graphics at the Motion Awards and a silver in sports at the Clios.

"Flawless and crisp, with a lot of cool little animation details sprinkled throughout. It manages to feel energetic and dynamic with nary a 3D effect in sight. (Except for the 3D logo treatment and even that is nicer than usual.)"

Comprehensive overhaul

With so many games, talk shows, stats, and news stories, the graphic demands of NFL Network were enormous. Our pared-down design approach and streamlined production pipeline made it possible to deliver a 360° toolkit with more than 500 distinct elements — the largest project I had led at the time.
